A safe place to rediscover your life

Therapy for adults struggling with emotional overwhelm, overthinking, and substance abuse that affects relationships and creates problems in their lives.

At a certain point, it can feel like you’re stuck in the same patterns of avoiding, lashing out, or using substances.

Overthinking can leave relationships feeling unsteady and lead to coping strategies that ultimately make things worse. I work with individuals who feel as though their emotions and thoughts begin to take over, especially in their daily habits and in relationships. This can show up as shutting down or reacting in ways they later regret, which often leads to self-doubt and confusion about themselves and within their decisions and interactions with others.

You may notice that stress builds and replays in your mind over and over again. You might also find you offend others more quickly than you intend, or that it feels like you don’t have a filter in conversations. Over time, it can start to feel like the choices you are making are not improving anything. Avoiding situations, trying to control outcomes, or using substances to cope can all begin to create even more distress rather than relief.

It doesn’t have to stay like this forever…

You may not know how to respond differently in the moment, especially when your emotions can be so intense and distracting and your thoughts seem to replay in your mind.  That’s where we focus our work.  Helping you notice what’s happening in the moment and find a different way to respond before things get worse.

My goal is not to repeat what has already been tried without success

What you see with me is what you get. I do not expect you to perform or present yourself in a certain way, and I hope you never feel the need to apologize for being who you are. I will sit with you in the hard moments and gently guide you when change is needed. I want to work with you in creating meaningful shifts that support a more stable, connected, and intentional life.

I take a direct and active approach in therapy. Rather than only talking through what is happening, we focus on understanding and changing the patterns that keep you stuck, especially cycles of overthinking, emotional overwhelm, and reacting or shutting down in relationships.

Together, we look at what is happening in real situations: what triggers emotional reactions, what keeps thought loops going, and what contributes to patterns repeating even when you want them to change. I also help you build practical ways to respond differently in those moments so you can feel more grounded and more in control of how you show up in your life and relationships.

A large part of our work involves identifying patterns over time, understanding your emotional vulnerabilities, how certain situations tend to affect you, and what can shift those patterns in a lasting way.

For clients who are interested, I can also integrate faith based support and integrative or holistic considerations into this work. These are always optional and are used to support the emotional and relational changes you are working toward, not as a separate or required part of therapy.

Therapy with me is…

  • I help you build the confidence to understand yourself, advocate for your needs, and respond to future challenges with more clarity and stability rather than overwhelm or reactivity.

  • Therapy is a space where we focus on real change, not just insight. We work on identifying patterns and building practical skills so you can respond differently in difficult emotional and relational situations.

  • There is no one-size-fits-all approach here. I pay close attention to what actually works for you as an individual, and we adjust our work together so therapy feels relevant, useful, and aligned with your needs.

  • I will gently challenge you when it supports your growth, and I will also respect your pace when things feel overwhelming. Therapy is a balance of accountability and support, not pressure or performance.
